The United Arab Emirates has decided to suspend all trade relations and financial transactions with Iran, in response to the launch of two ballistic missiles from Iran towards Emirati territory. The communication director of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Afra Al Hameli, stated that this measure is a reaction to regional escalations that threaten peace and security.
The missiles, which fell into the sea, were considered a threat to maritime traffic in the area. Despite the accusations, Iran denied carrying out the attack, urging regional states to avoid unfounded allegations.
Tensions in the Persian Gulf, especially in the Strait of Hormuz, have increased, affecting maritime traffic and provoking attacks on commercial vessels. Relations between the United Arab Emirates and Iran have been strained in the past, with attacks attributed to Tehran on American military bases and Emirati infrastructure.
