The United Nations (UN) is facing major difficulties in delivering humanitarian aid in northern Gaza, affected by famine, due to the war-destroyed infrastructure and the closure of main access routes, despite the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), approximately 560 tons of food are delivered daily, but this is insufficient to meet the needs of the population. The UN humanitarian chief, Tom Fletcher, emphasized the need for thousands of aid vehicles to enter Gaza weekly to combat severe malnutrition. Access to the north remains extremely difficult, and hospitals in the area are facing severe resource shortages. Although approximately 950 trucks have delivered aid in southern and central Gaza, the flow to the north is not enough to stop the acute food crisis.
