King Charles delivered a historic speech at the U.S. Congress in which, although there were no direct criticisms of the Trump administration, some key messages regarding the current geopolitical context were introduced.

1) The U.S.-U.K. Relationship

King Charles began his speech addressing the "times of great uncertainty" currently faced by the U.S. and the U.K. - the conflicts in the Middle East and Europe, as well as the attack on the Correspondents' Dinner, which represented an act of political violence. He continued his speech by mentioning that the United States and the United Kingdom have not always agreed, but when the two countries have common interests, they can collaborate "not only for the benefit of our peoples but for all peoples."

2) The Limits of Executive Power, a Message Worthy of Democrats' Applause

The Democrats who attended the speech applauded enthusiastically when King Charles stated that executive power is "subject to the control and balance of powers," as enshrined in the Magna Carta, later becoming a fundamental principle in the American Constitution.

"The words of America carry weight and significance. The actions of this great nation matter even more!" added the British king, a statement that sparked certain reactions from Democrats, who have repeatedly criticized both Donald Trump's statements and the decisions made by his administration.

3) On NATO and the Military Link Between the Organization and the U.S.

The King of Britain managed to review the transatlantic alliance and NATO's role, highlighting the benefits of security and intelligence relations between the U.S. and Europe by mentioning the period in which he served in the Royal Navy for five years.

At the same time, the king did not forget to mention the issue of climate change, one of the topics that concerns him greatly.

"From the depths of the Atlantic to the melting ice caps in the Arctic, the commitment and expertise of the Armed Forces of the United States and their allies are at the heart of NATO, committed to defending each other, protecting our citizens and interests, safeguarding Americans and Europeans from our common adversaries," said King Charles.

4) The Epstein Case, Left Without Any Mention from the King

The only mention King Charles made regarding the Epstein case was about the need to support the victims of "realities" that exist in both societies. Thus, he made no direct reference to Jeffrey Epstein or the survivors of abuse, disappointing those who had requested to meet with the victims while he was in the U.S.

5) Royal Humor, Ever Present in the Speech

King Charles also included a bit of humor in his speech, the most notable joke being the often misquoted remark by Oscar Wilde that states that the U.S. and England have everything in common "except, of course, the language."
