The South Korean Ministry of Defense announced the suspension of propaganda broadcasts, a measure that is part of the strategy to de-escalate relations with North Korea. These broadcasts, resumed in 2010, included South Korean pop music and information about the situation in the North. President Lee Jae Myung ordered the military to stop the broadcasts and requested activists to refrain from sending balloons with materials across the border. This is a continuation of efforts to restore dialogue with Pyongyang.
