David Burke, known by the stage name d4vd, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police on suspicion of murder in the case of the death of a 14-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The dismembered body of the girl was discovered on September 8, 2025, in the trunk of a Tesla registered in Burke's name.

Authorities began a grand jury investigation following the discovery of the remains, which were severely decomposed. Burke, at 21 years old, is being held without bail, and prosecutors intend to decide whether to file charges.

His lawyers claim that the evidence will demonstrate his innocence and that no official charges have been filed. Rivas was reported missing from Lake Elsinore, and Burke canceled a concert in Seattle on the day the victim's identity was revealed.
