The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog in central and northern England, including East Midlands and Cambridgeshire, due to very reduced visibility that has hindered traffic this morning. The pink fog formed through the dispersion of light by fine droplets of fog, eliminating blue and green colors and leaving predominantly red light visible, more evident at sunrise and sunset. Meteorologists emphasize that the phenomenon is rare and spectacular, but does not pose a weather hazard in itself, with risks being the usual ones associated with fog. Although unusual, the phenomenon has been observed previously in Great Britain, for example in 2019.
