Meteorologists have confirmed a stratospheric warming event that will take place in mid-February, disrupting the polar vortex and influencing the circulation of cold air. This phenomenon will lead to the release of cold air towards the mid-latitudes, affecting the United States, Canada, and Europe. Although the polar vortex will destabilize, an atmospheric interference generated by the Madden-Julian Oscillation will temporarily protect certain regions of the United States from the negative effects of the stratospheric collapse, resulting in higher temperatures.

However, it is expected that, in the last part of February and the beginning of March, new waves of cold air will appear. In Europe, the forecast indicates a mass of cold air that will affect the northeast of the continent, but it will be hindered by a low-pressure system from the Atlantic. In Romania, the weather will alternate between cold periods and temporary warm-ups, with maximum temperatures ranging between 2 and 13 degrees Celsius in the next two weeks.
