The Kremlin has declared that the territorial issue remains fundamental for Russia in the perspective of a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine, according to the TASS agency. President Vladimir Putin reiterated that Russia will occupy the entire Donbas region, which it currently controls by about 90%, if Ukraine does not cede it. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that this position is consistent and is part of the so-called "Anchorage formula," which would involve the cession of Donbas to Russia. Although recent discussions in Abu Dhabi, mediated by the United States, did not lead to an agreement, Peskov assessed the discussions positively. Ukraine has stated that it will not cede territories that Russia has not conquered militarily. The next discussions are scheduled for the upcoming weekend.
