Dmitri Peskov clarified that it is not correct to say that Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected the United States' peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. During the meeting on December 2, which was the first direct discussion between Russia and the U.S. on this topic, Peskov stated that some aspects of the plan were accepted, while others were deemed unacceptable, a normal process in seeking a compromise.
The meeting took place between Putin and American officials, including President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Although discussions occurred, Putin's advisor, Yuri Ushakov, mentioned that no compromise plan was reached. Additionally, NATO does not have information suggesting that Putin would be willing to reach a peace agreement, considering that he might be bluffing in his statements regarding his willingness to go to war with Europe.
