The Israeli army (IDF) announced the recovery of the body of Sergeant Major Ran Gvili, the last hostage killed in Gaza, following searches in a cemetery in the eastern part of Gaza City. Gvili, a 24-year-old police officer, was killed during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, when 251 hostages were taken.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the return of Gvili's body is a significant achievement for Israel, emphasizing that all hostages have been brought home. Additionally, Israel has decided to reopen the border crossing with Egypt after the completion of the body recovery operation. The article also mentions the Trump administration's plans for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which require significant investments but remain in the proposal stage.
