A 41-year-old Ukrainian was rescued on Thursday afternoon by mountain rescuers from Maramureș, after getting lost for three nights in an extremely difficult area known for its cliffs and waterfalls. The intervention was requested through a call to 112, with the man reporting that he was in a dangerous area and could no longer orient himself.

The rescuers reached him after several hours of searching, discovering that he was well-equipped, having supplies and change of clothes. According to the head of Salvamont Maramureș, Dan Benga, the Ukrainian managed to survive in extreme conditions and stated that he had fought on the front for two years and eight months, which eased his attempt to escape from his country. The man was found in good condition, without medical issues, and managed to navigate through the dangerous areas of the mountain.
