The Council of the European Union announced the sanctioning of four organizations and three individuals due to "serious and systematic abuses" against Palestinians. The decision was made after a political agreement among the 27 member states, reached at a meeting in May. Among those sanctioned are the Nachala organization and its director, Daniella Weiss, for facilitating violence and the forced displacement of Palestinians.

Additionally, the Israeli NGO Regavim and its director, Meir Deutsch, were sanctioned for advocating for the demolition of Palestinian properties. Other targeted organizations include Hashomer Yosh and the Amana association. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the sanctions, accusing the EU of "moral bankruptcy." The measures impose asset freezes and travel bans, which had previously been blocked by Hungary's veto. Violence in the West Bank has significantly increased, especially following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in thousands of Palestinian casualties.
