The Israeli army announced on Sunday the evacuation of residents from several villages in southern Lebanon, including Maifadoun, Shaqra, Yahmar al-Shaqif, Arnoun, Zawtar El-Sharkiyeh, Zawtar El-Gharbiyeh, and Kfar Tibnit. In a statement published on social media platform X, the army emphasized that "the repeated violations of the ceasefire by Hezbollah compel the IDF to act," urging residents to move at least one kilometer away from the affected areas.
This evacuation order comes in the context of U.S. President Donald Trump announcing a three-week extension of the ceasefire in Lebanon, a crucial aspect in negotiations with Iran. However, both Israel and Beirut have continuously reported violations of the ceasefire, prompting actions from the Israeli army.
