The Israeli army has identified the remains of Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai hostage killed in Gaza, his body being repatriated for burial.

His body was taken to the Gaza Strip, where it was held by the Islamic Jihad organization. Following the identification process, his family was informed that the remains had been repatriated for burial. Sudthisak was 42 years old at the time of his death.

This incident occurred in the context of a broader conflict, which was marked by a Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023. A ceasefire was established, and Hamas released the last 20 hostages taken that day. The remains of 27 of the 28 hostages were also returned, and the last body yet to be handed over is that of an Israeli. Israeli authorities stated that the recently returned remains did not belong to the two hostages still held in Gaza.
