The Hungarian authorities chose not to order the closure of the Samsung plant in Göd, despite a report from the intelligence services highlighting serious poisoning among employees, caused by exposure to toxic chemicals. According to the investigation, the factory's internal measurements showed alarming results, and Samsung was accused of trying to cover up the situation.

Although the plant represented a "political risk" for public health, the government opted not to close it, fearing repercussions on attracting other investors. Instead, it gave the company a deadline to address the issues, although the deficiencies persisted.

The Orban government implemented tax cuts and subsidies to attract investments, but industrial performance was affected by slower sales of electric vehicles, and public opinion turned against battery factories due to health and environmental risks.
