The European Commission, together with the OECD, presented on Thursday a new 'AI Literacy Framework', aimed at students in primary and secondary education. The goal of this project is to help students understand and use artificial intelligence in a responsible and ethical manner.
The framework provides teachers and educational leaders with a common basis regarding the skills necessary to understand AI-based technologies. Structured into four main areas - interaction, creation, management, and modeling with AI - the guide includes recommendations and activities applicable in the classroom.
This initiative supports the European Union's objective of providing modern digital education adapted to future challenges. The Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Roxana Mânzatu, emphasized the importance of AI literacy for Europe's competitiveness and the protection of democracy.
The project was carried out with the support of CodeAI and international experts.
