Mandelson acknowledged that he made a mistake by associating with Epstein and apologized to his victims, stating that he did not commit any illegal acts. Recently, he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office but was released on bail. OLAF emphasized that it respects the presumption of innocence and is investigating all relevant information. The anti-corruption organization Transparency International welcomed the Commission's initiative to take these allegations seriously.
