On Monday, it declared that there is currently no immediate threat to the energy supply security of the European Union, in the context of escalating events in the Middle East. The spokesperson for Energy, Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, stated that the analysis conducted does not indicate immediate concerns.
The Commission has requested member states to submit their risk assessments, and within the next 48 hours, it will organize a meeting of the oil coordination group to analyze the situation. Regarding gas, EU storage is approximately 30% full, according to the limits set for winter. Ikonen ruled out emergency measures, emphasizing that there is no deficit, but mentioned that a meeting on gas could be convened at the request of member states.
