The Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has become the deadliest in the country's history, exceeding 2,300 deaths in just three months, according to AFP cited by Agerpres.

This is the 17th Ebola epidemic in the DRC, declared on May 15, and the head of the UN humanitarian affairs department emphasized that it is "the fastest recorded ever," killing one person every 30 minutes.

The epidemic has spread to six provinces, and the precarious health infrastructure and distrust in authorities contribute to the spread of the virus. Currently, there are no vaccines or specific treatments for the Bundibugyo variant of Ebola.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed hope that the trend of the epidemic's spread can be reversed within three months.

Additionally, exposed health workers have protested for better working conditions and pay.
