The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is aware of the recent incident in which a Russian military drone crashed into an apartment building in Galați, Romania, injuring two people and evacuating over 70 residents. The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed the information, and former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev commented that it is important to establish the origin of the drone and suggested that the countries of the European Union should not discuss this topic, being involved in the conflict in Ukraine.

Maria Zakharova announced that Russia will take measures in response to the declaration of the Russian consul general in Romania as a persona non grata. The incident generated a swift reaction from the Romanian authorities, with President Nicușor Dan convening an emergency meeting of the CSAT and summoning the Russian ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
