The Israeli army (IDF) announced on Friday that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip has officially come into effect, starting at local time 12:00.

In a statement published on Telegram, the IDF claims that the troops "have begun to position themselves along the updated lines of deployment" starting at local time 12:00.

Thousands of Palestinians have mobilized, on Friday, towards the north of the Gaza Strip, following the announcement of a ceasefire, observed AFP journalists in Nousseirat, in the center of the territory.
