The ceasefire between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has been extended for 15 days, according to official announcements. In recent weeks, government troops have captured significant territories in northern and eastern Syria, strengthening the power of President Ahmed al-Sharaa. Although the SDF has not responded to the government's calls for dialogue, the ceasefire was established to support international operations, including the transfer of Islamic State assets. The USA and France have warned the Syrian government to avoid escalating the conflict, fearing abuses against Kurdish civilians. Tensions between the government and the SDF have increased, and Kurdish forces have prepared for a possible confrontation, in the context of Sharaa's ambitions to control the entire country, including the autonomous Kurdish areas.
