The budget paralysis in the United States has ended after 40 days of deadlock, during which over a million public employees were not paid, severely affecting air traffic and the social sector. President Donald Trump stated that this moment represents a "very big victory" for Republicans, while Democrats are dissatisfied with senators from their own party who voted to end the "shutdown." Congress is preparing to vote on a new budget text, and the Senate has adopted a proposal that extends the current budget until the end of January. The vote required support from several Democratic senators, which sparked anger among some in their ranks, including California Governor Gavin Newsom. Democratic minority leader Hakeem Jeffries called on Republicans to honor commitments related to subsidies for "Obamacare," which were part of the dispute that led to the deadlock.
