The American military captured on Thursday, in the Caribbean Sea, the oil tanker Veronica, considered 'subject to sanctions', as part of President Donald Trump's campaign to exert pressure on Venezuela and its oil exports. The U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, announced on the social media platform X that a tactical team from the Coast Guard conducted a boarding and seizure operation of the vessel.
The American military command emphasized that Veronica is another tanker defying the blockade imposed by Trump on Venezuelan oil. This represents the sixth tanker capture by the United States, which seeks to exploit Venezuela's oil resources, following the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
