Kokichi Akuzawa became the oldest tourist to reach the summit of Mount Fuji at 102 years old, stating that there is nothing special about this achievement, considering he had previously climbed the mountain at 96 years old. Despite having recent health difficulties, including a fall and heart failure, Akuzawa recovered quickly. The ascent took three days and was accompanied by a niece. Although he continues his volunteer activities and painting, he does not plan to climb Fuji again.
