Tetris accuses the White House of unauthorized use of its trademark in the game “Build the Wall”

The Tetris Company announced that it did not authorize or license the use of its trademark or intellectual property in the game “Build the Wall,” launched Thursday by President Donald Trump’s administration in the “Arcade” section of the White House’s official website. The company is examining the possibility of copyright infringement.

“The Tetris Company” stated that it was not involved in creating the game and that it is treating the situation with the utmost seriousness. The company’s representatives also conveyed a message with a critical undertone regarding the platform’s themes: “At Tetris, we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together, not dividing them”.

“Build the Wall” reproduces visual elements and mechanics associated with the Tetris game, while the instructions urge users to “protect the border from the approaching horde”. The platform also includes materials reminiscent of franchises such as Sega, Xbox, and “Flappy Bird”. In one video, the Sega logo is transformed into “MAGA”, the political slogan used by Donald Trump.

The White House claims that the games are an innovative way to present the administration’s achievements. However, the launch was criticized by human rights organizations, which accused the platform of promoting anti-immigration messages and themes considered racist.
