A court in Paris found ten people guilty of cyberbullying against France's First Lady, Brigitte Macron, on Monday, following false accusations that she is a transgender woman. The eight men and two women, aged between 41 and 60, were accused of malicious comments regarding Brigitte Macron's gender and sexuality, including degrading comparisons to pedophilia. The court deemed these statements 'degrading, insulting, and malicious' and imposed penalties ranging from cyberbullying awareness courses to suspended sentences of up to 8 months. Brigitte Macron was not present at the trial but stated that she initiated legal actions to 'set an example' in the fight against harassment. Among the accused is a person who significantly contributed to the spread of the rumor through a YouTube video. This situation is part of a series of conspiracy theories claiming that Brigitte Macron was born under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux, her brother's name. Additionally, the Macron couple has filed a defamation lawsuit in the United States against a right-wing personality who amplified these rumors.
