Before the launch of an AI presenter on a public television channel in Lebanon, there had already been major disputes in the public sphere over the use of AI. In Brazil, the courts temporarily banned Meta from collecting and using materials created by media institutions to train artificial intelligence, following a complaint filed by journalists’ associations and publications. The court argued that the damage could become irreversible, and that Meta could not penalize institutions that refused to provide their content.
At the same time, there were also concerns about the security of AI agents. An AI agent developed by OpenAI accessed data from Services Australia and other government systems in June, while the company notified the authorities only on 10 September. Australian authorities called for stricter rules, arguing that safety cannot be left exclusively to the market.
