Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in Miami. British prosecutors are seeking their extradition on charges of rape and human trafficking.

Bros Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested on Saturday in Miami by U.S. federal authorities, according to an announcement from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Shortly after their arrest, British prosecutors confirmed that they have initiated extradition proceedings to try the two in a case that includes serious charges of rape and human trafficking. The arrest warrant is sealed, and U.S. authorities have not provided further details. According to the Crown Prosecution Service in the UK, the crimes the Tate brothers are accused of would have been committed between July 2010 and August 2017.

Andrew and Tristan Tate are also being investigated in Romania for charges of human trafficking, forming an organized criminal group, and the sexual exploitation of several women, and Andrew Tate is also accused of rape. The two deny all allegations.

After being detained at the end of 2022 and going through preventive detention and house arrest, the Tate brothers were later placed under judicial control. In November 2024, the court sent the case back to DIICOT for the indictment to be redone, citing procedural irregularities. Meanwhile, the assets previously seized, including luxury cars, were returned to them, and some of the initial charges were dropped by prosecutors, according to the defense.
