A 30% tariff will cause significant losses for the French food industry, hitting the dairy sector in particular.

ANIA President Jean-Francois Loiseau and FNIL Director Francois Xavier Huard warn that an additional 30% tariff will have a devastating impact on the French food industry, particularly dairy producers. They point out that the sector could lose annual sales worth hundreds of millions of euros, as dairy exports to the US are worth around €350m. Producers fear the extra duties will make products inaccessible to US consumers and reduce competitiveness on the international market. The EU is seeking a negotiated solution to avoid escalating trade tensions.
