Taiwan, considered by China as part of its territory, is seeking a more receptive audience in Central and Eastern Europe following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Although European countries maintain diplomatic relations with Beijing, Taiwanese officials like Hsieh Jih-Sheng emphasize the importance of the lessons learned from the Ukrainian conflict for Taiwan's military preparedness. Hsieh warned that a Russian victory could encourage a more aggressive stance from China towards Taiwan, and collaboration between Taiwan and Europe could help prevent a geopolitical crisis in the Indo-Pacific. Taiwan shares its experience in combating disinformation and military pressure from China, hoping to build closer partnerships in Europe.
