The export of oil from Syria, carried out on Monday, is a first after 14 years of conflict that has severely affected the country's economy and infrastructure. The oil was sold to the company B Serve Energy and transported by the tanker Nissos Christiana. Most of the reserves are located in the northeast, controlled by the Kurds, who have begun to collaborate with the government in Damascus. Relations have been strained due to minority rights. Recently, the U.S. lifted sanctions, facilitating the resumption of exports, and Syria signed an agreement worth 800 million dollars for the development of the port of Tartus.
