After a temporary closure due to instability in Iran, the Swiss embassy has reopened, allowing it to once again represent American interests in the country. Ambassador Nadine Olivieri Lozano has returned to Tehran, and the Swiss Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of resumed diplomacy. Switzerland has also mediated negotiations between Iran and the US on Iran's nuclear program, in the context of the tensions generated by Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
