On Friday, the Swedish Government announced the organization of a war simulation exercise, considered the first large-scale simulation since the 1990s, which was attended by the King of Sweden, the Crown Princess, the armed forces, and members of parliament. The exercise aimed to assess the necessary measures to ensure national security in the face of a real risk of conflict. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson emphasized the importance of joint exercises in the current security context, mentioning that they contribute to strengthening Sweden's defense.

The Swedish government intends to significantly increase defense spending and invest in the armed forces and civil defense infrastructure, in response to the deteriorating regional security environment, especially due to tensions with Russia. The exercise was designed to strengthen collaboration between institutions and prepare rapid responses in crisis situations. The publication of the statement in Russian also suggests an intention to send a clear message to both international partners and adversaries regarding Sweden's determination to strengthen its defense. This initiative reflects a strategic shift in the approach to national security, preparing the country for complex scenarios after decades of peace.
