The super-typhoon Fung-wong hit the town of Dinalungan in Aurora province, Philippines, on Sunday evening with sustained winds of up to 185 km/h and gusts of 230 km/h. Before the impact, over a million people were evacuated. The typhoon caused significant damage in the town of Santiago in Isabela province, where houses were affected, and tree branches and electric poles were toppled.
According to a preliminary report from the Office of Civil Defense, at least two people were killed and another two injured. The vice governor of Aurora mentioned that three towns are isolated due to landslides and destroyed roads. Currently, the typhoon is moving towards the South China Sea, and meteorologists are warning of continued severe weather across the country. Additionally, over 400 flights have been canceled due to weather conditions.
