A devastating attack took place at a Shia Muslim mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, resulting in at least 31 deaths and over 160 serious injuries. According to sources from the Punjab police, the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), are considered responsible for the attack. A police official stated that the explosion appears to have been a suicide attack, although the exact cause has not been confirmed.

It seems that the attacker detonated himself after being stopped at the mosque's gate. Images from the scene show bodies and significant destruction. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, expressed his deep sorrow following this tragic incident, and rescue teams continue to work to assist the victims.
