A spokesperson for the Spanish cabinet emphasized that Spain is a key member of NATO, significantly contributing to the defense of Europe and having long-standing trade relations with the USA.

Trump accused Spain of an unfriendly attitude, claiming that it refused to allow the use of its military bases. In response, Spain highlighted the importance of respecting the autonomy of private companies and international agreements.
