The measure is part of a strategy of 'technological disconnection' from the Israeli military industry, mentioned by the Undersecretary of State for Defense, Amparo Valcarce. The aim is to lessen dependence on Israel, in line with a draft law that provides for an arms embargo on states accused of crimes against humanity.
