The aerospace and artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk announced on Monday that it has raised 86 billion dollars following the largest initial public offering (IPO) in history, surpassing previous estimates of 75 billion dollars. This amount was made possible due to the over-allotment option, which allowed partner banks to sell an additional package of 83 million shares, reaching a total of 639 million shares, at a price of 135 dollars each.

The net proceeds from this fundraising, after deducting fees of 500 million dollars, totaled 85.7 billion dollars. SpaceX thus surpassed the previous record of 25.6 billion dollars set by Saudi Aramco in 2019. On the first day of trading, SpaceX shares rose by 19.22%, and the company's valuation exceeded 2 trillion dollars, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world. Additionally, Elon Musk became the first person in history with a net worth of 1 trillion dollars, at least on paper.
