Somalia is taking a significant step in the field of oil drilling, moving from exploration to execution, according to Clash Report. The drilling vessel Çağrı Bey from Turkey will arrive on Friday in the territorial waters of Somalia, marking the beginning of a new phase in the country's 'offshore energy journey'. The Minister of Petroleum, Dahir Shire, described this moment as a 'historic milestone', emphasizing that 'a new chapter begins'.

The partnership between Somalia and Turkey will allow for the sharing of production, and researchers estimate that Somalia holds billions of barrels in offshore reserves. Exploration activities have been blocked for decades due to conflicts and instability in the region, but now, through this initiative, Somalia hopes to revive its economy and enter the oil market.
