A small Piper P-28 plane crashed on Wednesday in Phoenix, Arizona, hitting two houses and injuring three people. The incident occurred around 7:20 AM, near the intersection of Cave Creek Road and Deer Valley Drive, while the plane was heading to Deer Valley Airport.

The plane first struck a property, breaking off a wing that fell onto the roof, then continued to descend, landing nose down next to a pool in the yard of a second house. On board were a student pilot and a flight instructor, who suffered minor cuts and burns and were transported to the hospital, along with a man from one of the affected houses. Phoenix Fire Department representative Captain Todd Keller stated that, fortunately, everyone involved is fine. The Federal Aviation Authority has launched an investigation into the accident.
