Two ships, one under the Panama flag and the other under the Barbados flag, were damaged following an attack in the navigation corridor of Ukraine, announces the Ukrainian port authority.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when one of the ships was heading to the port of Odesa, essential for Ukrainian exports, carrying a cargo of metal, while the other was transporting grain and had already left the port. A fire broke out on board one of the ships but was quickly extinguished by the crew, without any injuries reported.

Both ships were able to continue their journey. The governor of the Odesa region, Oleh Kiper, stated that the attack was carried out with Russian drones, thus highlighting the ongoing risks in the navigation area of the Black Sea.
