The study by Eunomia and Zero Carbon Analytics highlights that China leads global plastics production with 34%, followed by the US (13%) and Saudi Arabia (5%). The international negotiations for a treaty against plastic pollution highlight that just 18 companies will generate more than half of the world's polymer production in 2021, with China's Sinopec as the leading producer. Germany is the only European country in the top 10 producers.
