A serious incident occurred on Friday when a JetBlue flight, which had taken off from Curaçao bound for New York, narrowly avoided a collision with a refueling aircraft of the U.S. Air Force. The pilot stated that the military aircraft entered the trajectory of the civilian flight with its transponder turned off, which was deemed "outrageous." After the incident, the military plane headed towards Venezuelan airspace. This incident comes amid an escalation of U.S. military operations in the Caribbean, in light of a possible intervention in Venezuela. JetBlue reported the incident to federal authorities, and the company's spokesperson emphasized that the crew acted according to procedures. The Pentagon redirected inquiries to the Air Force, which did not immediately comment. The Federal Aviation Administration recently issued a warning for American aircraft, advising caution in Venezuelan airspace.
