A Russian pensioner was fined 40,000 rubles by a court in the village of Ilan, Volgograd region, after he opened fire on drones flying near his home. The incident was reported by the publication Viorstka, cited by EFE.
The man called the emergency number to report the attack, mentioning the location where the remains of the destroyed drones might be. In his defense, the pensioner claimed he acted out of fear for public safety, considering the drones as possible sabotage devices.
However, his appeal was rejected by the court, with the judge arguing that there was no evidence to justify his actions.
The court decided to confiscate the gun used, considering that the man committed a 'serious violation' that could have endangered the life and health of citizens.
