The Russian parliamentarian Kolesnik stated that the recent incident in Galați, located near Odessa and at the border with Ukraine, is an attempt to build a sinister image of Russia. He emphasizes that, despite pressures from the West, Russia has not attacked and believes that Western propaganda has adopted a new tactic, trying to present Russia as a threat.

Kolesnik criticizes the lack of concrete evidence in the accusations against Russia and mentions that, although the West wonders why Russia does not attack, it continues not to do so. The State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, is equivalent to the Chamber of Deputies in Romania, and Kolesnik's statements reflect Russia's official position in the face of international criticism.
