The cargo ship KSL DEYANG, owned by a Chinese company and flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, was attacked by a Russian drone on Monday morning in the Black Sea while heading to the port of Pivdeni in the Odesa region to load iron ore concentrate. According to Reuters sources, the ship was not carrying cargo at the time of the attack and did not suffer significant damage, and the fire caused was extinguished by the crew.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Russia could not be unaware of the ship's presence at sea. The Ukrainian naval forces warned that Russian attacks pose a threat not only to Ukraine but also to its partners.

On the previous night, Russia launched a massive attack, using 524 drones and 22 missiles, and Ukrainian air defense units managed to shoot down most of them. The attacks targeted the city of Dnipro and the Odesa region, causing injuries among civilians, including children.
