Russian drone attacks on Ukraine on Friday night resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to another 30, according to Ukrainian officials. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in Istanbul for talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Russia launched 286 drones, of which 260 were shot down by Ukrainian forces. The most severe attacks occurred in the city of Nikopol, where three women and two men were killed, and 19 people, including a 14-year-old girl, were injured. In the city of Sumy, 11 people were injured following an attack that affected residential areas. In Kyiv, an attack caused a fire in an office building, but no casualties were reported. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it attacked Ukrainian military facilities while reporting the downing of 85 Ukrainian drones on Russian territory. In the Rostov region, an attack resulted in one death and injuries to four others, causing fires at a storage facility.
