The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that strategic bombers Tupolev TU-22M3 carried out a patrol mission over the neutral waters of the Black Sea on Tuesday, being escorted for over five hours by Suhoi SU-35 and SU-27 fighter jets. The statement emphasizes that all flights comply with international airspace usage norms. In recent months, Russian aviation has conducted similar patrols in other regions, including the Baltic Sea. Russian bombers, including the TU-160 and TU-95MS models, frequently carry out such missions, without being significantly affected by the conflict in Ukraine, despite Ukrainian attacks on Russian airfields.
