In the Zaporozhye region of southern Ukraine, airstrike attacks carried out by Russian troops killed 26 people on Wednesday, including a child, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov. He reported that the bombings targeted residential buildings and an educational institution, causing significant damage.
Three strikes were recorded in the regional capital and its peripheral areas. Ukraine's emergency service continues the work of clearing the rubble. Zaporozhye, located less than 25 km from the front line, has been constantly bombarded by Russia since the beginning of the invasion in 2022. Although Russia annexed the region in September 2022, it does not fully control it, and in the area is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, under Russian control.
